and helping to resolve issues in a manner consistent with the same project goals that have driven the project since schematic design!
What does it look like?
During regular site inspections, our main job is to make sure that construction is progressing in a manner consistent with the construction documents. However: a variety of influences — surprise conditions, material availability, or contractor expertise — sometimes means it’s time for us to put on our problem solving hats.Window sill detail in sketch form (left) and mockup on site (right)Once a solution is reached, we make supplementary drawings known as “sketches” to clarify or add to the construction document set.A detail for the connection between guardrail and floor (above) is realized onsite. The contractor submits samples or information sheets, called “submittals,” for us to review and approve before materials are purchased or installedOnce framing and building systems are in place, out attention turns to details, like finishes and interiors! We also offer interior design services, including the selection of wall & window coverings, furniture, and art!
Whatever our role, project construction is often the most rewarding phase of design. The efforts of collaboration between client, architect, and builder are unique to each project, translating to finished projects that are truly special!
